| Kevin T. Allen (sound designer) is an award winning filmmaker and sound artist living in Brooklyn. He has created sound-installation work for the Canadian Centre for Architecture and the Third Coast International Audio Festival. His most recent travels have led him to explore the soundscapes of Sri Lanka, India, Vietnam, Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, and a piano bar in Greenwich Village. His most recent film, KIEU, won first-prize at the Black Maria Film Festival and was featured on Michigan Public Broadcasting.
Andre Holland (Leon) attended NYU's Graduate Acting program and since graduating has appeared in plays with The Public Theatre/Shakespeare in the Park, Playwrights Horizons, and Georgia Shakespeare Festival; and, in the films, MIRACLE AT ST. ANNA directed by Spike Lee, and SUGAR co-directed by Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden. His next project is performing in a new piece by the playwright Tarell Alvin McCraney at The Alliance Theatre in Atlanta.
Annie J. Howell (co-writer/director, camera) has written and directed short films that have played internationally on the film festival circuit, including at SXSW, Newport, Full Frame and Clermont-Ferrand. Her work has aired on the Sundance Channel, PBS, and the Independent Film Channel. Her original screenplay THE MAMA SONGS is in development with Trademark Films (producers Lucy Barzun Donnelly and Joshua Astrachan) and was the recipient of a 2005 Screenwriters' Colony fellowship. Her screenplay BLACK KID was recently recognized with the Grand Prize Award for Panasonic's Digital Filmmaking Grants, part of IFP's 2008 Independent Film Week. She earned an MFA at NYU’s Graduate Program in Film and is currently Assistant Professor of Media Studies and Film at The New School, where she heads a graduate level program in documentary.
Sarah Hudnut (Sarah Sparks) is a Los Angeles-based actor. Her work also includes shows at the Ahmanson Theatre, Williamstown Theatre Festival (four seasons), Westport Country Playhouse, Portland Stage Company, and The Sundance Theatre Lab. Favorite stage roles include Catherine in David Auburn’s PROOF, Agnes in Eric Bogosian’s RED ANGEL, and Sorel Bliss in Noel Coward’s HAY FEVER. Sarah has appeared on numerous television shows, including Surface (NBC), Judging Amy (CBS), Sex and the City (HBO), ER (NBC), Diagnosis Murder (CBS) and Joint Custody (WB). She can also be seen in the upcoming Ed Burns film, PURPLE VIOLETS. Sarah received a Bachelor of Science in Communication from Northwestern University and a Master of Fine Arts from New York University.
Born in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Amir Husak (web development/additional design) spent his late teens in Germany before moving to United States in 1998. The cross-cultural experiences triggered his interest in media making as means of overcoming communication barriers and other borders, real or imagined. His professional background includes sound and camera work on a variety of video and music productions. Amir is currently an MA candidate at the New School's Media Studies department, where he focuses on producing works that blend documentary, essay and experimental processes.
Joel Mumma (composer) is currently a sophomore at the University of Pittsburgh and is studying Communication Science and Disorders and Neuroscience. He has recently composed music for several documentaries, one of which, Blind Faith, won for best score at the Hot Docs International Film Festival in Toronto in 2007. He strongly wishes to continue writing music for film, but is also interested in pursuing a career as a Music Therapist.
Lisa Robinson (co-writer/director, editor) has written and directed three award-winning short films that have screened at film festivals around the world including Cannes - Directors Fortnight, Telluride, Edinburgh and Clermont Ferrand. Her feature project SYNAPSE received the Sloan Foundation Feature Production Award and is currently in development with New York based company Salty Features. She is the recipient of the Martin E. Segal Prize, the Digital Media Lab Award for Excellence (from Japan), and a New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship. She received her MFA from NYU's Graduate Film Directing Program in 2000 and currently teaches film at Long Island University.
Erin Shigaki (web/logo design) founded Purple Gate Design in 2001. She has practiced design in New York City firms since 1996. Erin earned a BA degree in East Asian Studies from Yale University. She did additional design and fine art study at the American University in Washington, DC; the Yale Summer Program in Graphic Design in Brissago, Switzerland; School of Visual Arts; Cooper-Union; Lower East Side Print Shop and the Torpedo Factory. Erin has also taught printmaking and after-school art programs in NYC public schools on the Lower East Side. |
